How to Have A Very Houston Christmas
The Arabella might be a developing vision coming to reality, but it’s never too soon to learn a bit about your future home! There’s truly nothing more magical than Houston in December. Though we might not get the snowfall of NYC, we still have ice skating, beautiful lights, and all kinds of fun events to celebrate the holiday season!
Houston Holiday Light Shows
If you’re an ice skating fan, you can hop over to Discovery Green for a day of ice skating, delicious food, and family fun. For a little Christmas magic that’s closer to home, just make the short walk to the River Oaks District for a Holiday carriage ride. You could delight in hors d’oeuvres and drinks in the luminous Arboretum forest for the Trees & Stars event on December 3rd!
One of the biggest traditions in Houston for the holidays is our love of lights. We don’t mean one string of icicle lights; we mean all out, tree covered, see it from a mile away Christmas lights! In River Oaks alone, you won’t want to miss the illuminating displays on the streets Inwood and Bellmeade. You can even take a Holiday Lights tour to see the best that Houston has to offer.
Don’t Sleep on Downtown Fun
It’s not hard to plan a magical evening of food and fun in Houston. Dine on delectable Spanish tapas at Batanga across from Hotel Icon (another incredible Randall Davis property). After that, for you adventurous types, Zoo Lights might be just what your holiday season needs. Say hello to the birds, chimpanzees, and reptiles! Or you could take in the Alley Theatre’s annual production of A Christmas Carol.
Much like the city of Houston as a whole, the opportunities for things to do in Houston are ever growing! Just think about what you might be able to do once you’re living in the luxurious, visionary superstructure known to others as the Arabella, but known to you as one thing: home.
